The staffing comprises of teaching principal, principal release allocation, teachers aide/secretary, caretaker/grounds person, cleaner, and school bus driver
The school is supported by a wide range of outside agencies including the district Nurse (weekly visits), mobile dental caravan service, rural advisory service and correspondence school.
The school is part of a strong South Westland Principal's Cluster and receives excellent collegial support, access to a rural advisor and comprehensive resource centre at the Greymouth T.C. campus.
Information Communication Technology has been a strong focus of the school lately and there are now five networked pc's available for the children's use. The school also has constant internet facilities, printers for all computers, a scanner, digital camera, video camera, conference phone and a vhf portable radio for emergencies.
The Teacher Aide/Secretary and Treasurer of the Board of Trustee share a laptop computer and the Principal also has a Laptop
The school owns and operates its own bus. The bus run covers a catchment area of 40km between Mahitahi and Karangarua and the bus is also available for school trips.
The school has the full support of the local community. Parents offer their assistance and talents when pupils are involved in school trips, field trips and inter-school exchanges.
The school's main building consists of the classroom, cloak room, resource room, staff room and principal's office.
The school buildings consist of a main classroom, a second classroom which can be used for pre-school activities It has a dart board set up in there a folding table tennis table a PC used to play games on and various board games that can be used at break times. The room can also be used for school music, art or wet weather phys and also houses the local community library. There are various sheds and adequate facilities for storage.
An adventure playground, which is in the process of being upgraded, a solar heated swimming pool, a tennis court, and barbeque facilities complete the physical outlay of the school. Adjacent to the school grounds is a modern, warm, comfortable school house. The house has a recently installed dish washer, multi fuel heating in the living area and a single car garage.
